Ohio State Testing, March 26 - May 4

Students in grades 3-8 at Ironton Elementary School and Ironton Middle School will be taking the Ohio State Tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics, as well as Science in grades 5 and 8.  Ironton High School students will be taking end-of-course tests in English Language Arts I and II, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, American History and American Government.  All testing will occur during the state test administration window of March 26 - May 4.  On the day of each testing session, it is important that the student be rested and eat breakfast.   It is also important that the student be in attendance and report to school on time.

Why do students take state tests?  State achievement tests tell us how well our students are growing in the knowledge and skills outlined in Ohio’s Learning Standards. These tests help guide and strengthen future teaching so we can be sure that we are preparing our students for long-term success in school, college, careers and life.
